This training will not only provide a comprehensive overview of healthy home/safety issues; but also emphasize testing/assessment equipment and protocols, as well as low cost mitigation for these issues:

This training will consist of 20 hours of training of which be a combination of classroom and hands-on diagnostic/assessment skill-set training. Segments of the training are:

Steps to creating a community Healthy Homes Program
In-depth training focusing on the health effects, assessment and mitigation of healthy home/safety issues
Media and Tools to Promote a Tribal Healthy Homes Campaign and Community Program

Refining Your Steps to creating a community Healthy Homes Program

Tribal-Affiliated Extension Agents
Oklahoma Extension Agents who work with Tribes are invited to attend this regional training along with a member(s) of the Tribe(s) they serve. The Agent must be registered on a form with the other members of the Tribe.
Registration Fee
Because of generous support from local partners, the registration fee for this 2 1/2-day training will be only $65 per participant. Payment is due before the beginning of the training and is payable by cash, check or money order. The registration fee covers all training and materials as well as breaks and lunches.
Cancellation/Refund Policy: For a 100% refund (less a $50 processing fee) cancellations and refund requests must be in writing and received by MSU Extension 10 days prior to the event. Any cancellation received less than 10 days before 02/16/2011 will not be refunded.
Travel Scholarship
Due to generous funding through ARRA funds, the first 60 participants to request a travel scholarship will receive $500 to offset transportation, accommodations and other travel-related expenses. Tribal-affiliated Extension Agents will receive $250. Participants must attend the entire training; scholarships will be paid by check and will be mailed approximately 2-3 weeks after the last day of the training. Confirmation of receipt of a travel scholarship will be emailed along with registration confirmation. Sign-up for the travel scholarship is located on the registration form.

The training will take place at the Chickasaw Nation Division of Housing & Tribal Development at 111 Rosedale in Ada, Oklahoma.
A block of rooms at the special rate of $99, tax exempt, is being held for participants at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ada at 1201 Lonnie Abbott Rd. in Ada. To make reservations call the hotel directly at
(580) 310-9200. The block will be released February 1; state that you are with the Tribal Healthy Homes group in order to receive the published rate.
